潘国华:船舶引航人,30年如一日

对于大众来说,引航员是一个比较陌生的名词;但在作为海港城市、“海上丝绸之路”东方始发港宁波,这样一群指引船舶安全航行、靠离码头的引水员却至关重要。他们承担着巨大风险,日日夜夜准点为码头的船只保驾护航。在宁波引航站,高级引航员潘国华便是一位有着丰富引航经验的行业专家。

In general, maritime pilot is a noun quite unfamiliar to the majority of people. While in Ningbo, a port city known as the Eastern Departure Port of 'Maritime Silk Road', a troop of maritime pilots have played an indispensable role in guiding ships to navigate and berth safely. Undertaking immense risks, they safeguard crafts at the quayside day and night. Pan Guohua, a senior maritime pilot at Ningbo Pilot Station, is an expert with ample navigation experience.


1985年进入引航行业开始,潘国华几乎顾不上家。在夜深人静的时候,多数人都已沉入梦乡,潘国华却要在半夜里起床引航。一身制服,一个工作包,在夜间走出小区便成了潘国华独特的标配。潘国华会在前一天知道引航任务,准时到指定的泊位把船引领出去。如果遇到大雾、大风等恶劣天气,需要一天,甚至两天的时间完成任务。即使是驾驭一艘平稳、安全的大船,潘国华从不敢松懈大意,因为不为人知的危险无处不在。

Since 1985, the year when Pan started his career, he has hardly had any leisure time to take care of his family. At tranquil midnight, when most citizens have fallen into sleep, Pan needs to get up and go to work. He has the unique image of a uniform and a work package, and stepping out of the neighborhood at night becomes his unique standard behavior. Informed of his task one day ahead of time, Pan would arrive at the designated berth punctually and lead the boat out. If there happens to be severe weather like heavy rain, a storm etc., he is likely to spend a whole day, or even two days completing the task. Even if steering a steady and secure large ship, Pan never dares to be careless, for unknown dangers are everywhere.


引航是一项操作难度系数极高的工作,潘国华也从不是特立独行的人。为了把工作做得更好,潘国华还会每个月和同事进行交流探讨和总结经验。新引航员把碰到的具体操作难点讲出来,潘国华帮助他们分析、寻找解决之道。

Knowing that pilotage is a practical mission of extreme difficulty, Pan has never viewed himself as a maverick who can handle everything independently. Therefore, in order to accomplish tasks better, he exchanges and sums up experience every month with his colleagues. When new pilots tell the difficulties that they encounter in the specific operations, Pan is quite willing to help them analyze and find the solutions.


30多年来,这位勤勤恳恳的引航员先后为10000多艘船舶进出宁波港引航,见证了宁波港从一个小港口到国际大港的成长历程。不过,成长的故事从不会结束。港口码头依旧延绵着灯火通明的喧嚣,熙熙攘攘的人还在等候船舶的抵达。一代代引航人的感人事迹也仍然在路上。

Over the past 30 years or so, this dedicated worker has successively piloted over 10,000 vessels going and coming at Ningbo Port and witnessed the development of Ningbo port from a small port to an international big one. Nevertheless, the story of growth never ends. The docks are still bustling with lights, and the crowd is still waiting for the arrival of the ships. The touching deeds of generations of pilots, at the same time, are always on the way.
